However, natural stone processing operations do produce a lot of stone dust in the form of a slurry, which we collect through a water circuit fed by watering cans that propel water over the stone undergoing processing, thus capturing the dust that is released. Although the collected water containing the clay formed by the agglutinated dust does not contain elements dangerous for the environment, its evacuation by the traditional channels connected to the rainwater, would produce a saturation of the water courses in limestone. This saturation has the consequence of disturbing the local ecosystem and preventing any development of fauna and flora, as we can unfortunately too often observe in lakes, rivers, streams near quarries and natural rock processing plants.
